Purpose:

-- Effect of removal of selected plants on woody plant regeneration in secondary forests of Singapore


Methodology:

-- Observe effect on removing (pull from roots; hack once; hack periodically every 2 months) Clidemia hirta Koster's curse on woody plant regeneration at a total of fifteen 1x1m plots.


Observe effect of removing (hack once; hack periodically every 2 months) Hevea brasiliensis Rubber Tree on tree regeneration at a total of six 5x5m plots.


Duration of study: 8 months
Schedule: Selected plots are observed at 4th and 8th month after initial cutting


Plot Markings: Discrete and non-permanant markings to designate plots of study
